The Adult Education Committee plans, creates and implements interesting programs throughout the church year for the church members and the community at-large. Their main focus includes the offerings during Advent and Lent,environmental concerns, Bible study, and matters and manners of inclusion and faith. Contact the Adult Ed Chairman.
Christian Education Committee
Christian Education Committee
The Christian Education Committee (CE) is responsible for overseeing the activities of the church school, middle and senior high youth, and Confirmation classes. They also oversee the church school budget, curriculum, classrooms and nursery, and help maintain the vibrancy of our youth groups. The CE Committee generally meets once a month after church from 11:30 to 12:30, usually the third Sunday of the month. Contact the Christian Ed Chairman.
Board of Trustees
Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees is responsible for seeing that the physical facility is maintained, and for the fiscal management of the church. They propose an annual budget for adoption by the congregation in January. Trustees serve on various subcommittees, such as buildings and grounds, finance, etc. Contact the Trustees Chairman.

The Clerk is responsible for keeping a faithful record of the proceedings of congregational meetings and the monthly Council meetings. He/she keeps careful records of the membership, and records baptisms, marriages and deaths. Contact the church Clerk.
Congregational Care
Congregational Care
Congregational Care provides a ministry of presence to members of our church family. Working closely with the pastors, this ministry of presence reflects our concern and care for each other and seeks to respond to the spiritual, emotional and tangible needs of our church community. Delegates
Delegates
Delegates represent the church at meetings of the New Hampshire Conference, UCC, the Hillsborough Association, NHUCC, and at clergy ordinations. Approx. 3 meetings per year. For more information on the Delegates please contact our Church Moderator.
Diaconate
Diaconate
Deacons assist in the preparation and administration of the sacraments and aid generally in the spiritual care of the church in cooperation with the pastors. Deacons serve on one subcommittee: Parish Outreach, New Member or Worship, and a representative from each class is on the Pastoral Relations Committee. Deacons are responsible for the preparation of the worship services, recruiting ushers, greeters, liturgists and acolytes for each service. They provide oversight for our “Members in Discernment” who are studying in seminary. Contact the Diaconate Chairman.

The Fellowship Committee creates and manages events both within and outside the church that provide opportunities for the church members and friends to socialize and get to know each other. Contact the Fellowship Chairman.

The Long Range Planning Committee looks to the future, with a focus on planning how we might meet the needs of the congregation. In concert with the Council, they look at the big picture of our mission and purpose as a congregation. Contact the LRP Chairman.
Memorial Gifts

Supervises and maintains the Remembrance Book and reviews all gifts directed to the Memorial Gift Committee. They help prioritize memorial gifts and needs. Contact the Memorial Gifts Chairman.

The Music Committee plans and assists with all music programs. They are also responsible for the maintenance and care of all instruments within the church. This committee helps to engage special musicians in cooperation with the Director of Music and our pastors to support and enhance the mission and ministry of our church. Contact the Music Chairman.

The New Member Committee helps new members make meaningful connection and fellowship within the church and facilitates the incorporation of new members into the church. Contact the New Member Chairman.

The Nominating Committee brings forth a slate to be voted upon at the annual meeting, and provides consistency to the process of matching talented and interested nominees with opportunities in our church leadership structure. Contact the Nominating Chairman.

The Communications Committee communicates our mission to the congregation and the wider community using the local broadcast and print media, the Village Spire, Sunday bulletin, our website and social media. Contact the Communications Chairman.
Stewardship Committee
Stewardship Committee
The Stewardship Committee educates the congregation about generous giving and helps raise funds for the church to finance the annual budget. This includes creating, launching and following up on the annual pledge campaign. The committee also maintains a repository of members’ talents, interests and abilities that may be available to the church in support of God’s work. Contact the Stewardship Chairman.

The Treasurer receives and disburses, under the direction of the Board of Trustees, all monies contributed for the support of the church and its benevolences. Contact the Treasurer.

Has full charge and custody of all legacies and gifts that may be bequeathed to the church for the Permanent Endowment Fund; with full power to invest and reinvest the same, and to collect all profits or income thereon. Contact the Trustees Endowment Chairman
World Service Committee
World Service Committee
The World Service Committee is responsible for identifying local opportunities to provide service in the community, supporting the Congregational Church of Amherst’s wider mission offerings and recommending Mission Fund dispersals to the Church Council for their approval.
