Our church school and our youth groups work hard every year on various outreach projects. Below is information on our annual outreach projects:
Heifer Project
Through the children’s weekly offering and other mission projects throughout the year, our Church School donates to Heifer International. For more information visit the website for Heifer International.
Mission Sunday: November
On the Sunday after Thanksgiving, students prepare a turkey soup luncheon for the residents of the Mill Apartments in Milford. Our children also create table favors and other fixings of the meal as part of their fall and winter term class work. Fourth-graders (assisted by teachers and volunteer parents) serve and share the meal at the apartments around noon.
NOTE: children must have an updated health information sheet and field trip permission form signed and dated by a parent to participate.
Christmas Eve Stuffed Animal Collection
Children of all grades bring a stuffed animal (new, washable) to the family worship service on Christmas Eve at 5:00 p.m. The collected animals are distributed to the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Nashua and to the Elliot Hospital in Manchester. Hospital staff use the animals throughout the year to comfort and reassure young patients in their pediatric and emergency facilities. During worship, after the presentation of the nativity, children bring their offerings to the chancel steps.
